My fingers hurt from finger punching touch screen keyboards over the past few weeks. Good thing I don't do finger push ups otherwise the screen would've shattered under the strain. I tend to dislike touchscreen keyboards though as the when my fingers touch the keys it's the side pads of my fingers that make contact with the screen first and not the tips of my fingers. OH, well. Such is the sad life of an android. Eh, I mean human. I'm fully human. 100% flesh, blood and steel pajamas. Just like you.

Just. Like. You.

Don't stare at me like that, you pajama hater!

THere's a hacker conference starting this week. It's called "Hackers On Planet Earth" or HOPE for short. I'm not mentioning this for any reason other than the fact that I'll be there. Or so I'm supposed to be there.

Can an object exist inside itself?

Like what if there are two people sitting and playing chess and around them they see the chess pieces as the 2 players themselves are sitting on one of the squares. And when one player hops his knight over his wall of pawns they see the giant piece being lifted and moved over the pawns. So then one of the players moves a piece and ends up crushing themselves. But doesn't that mean they crush the piece that's crushing them? It's that whole microcosm/macrocosm thing.

Maybe this might happen in another reality but good thing that in this reality the map isn't the territory. Anyways, it's a good mental exercise.

Maybe I should get more coffee?

A Scene at the Club Seal    2010-06-28 05:43:18 ET
He sat there, grey mohair suit, coffee in hand, his eyes slightly shifting back and forth taking in the new comers and the passerby. A girl approached him. She looked interested in him. In something that she saw in him. It brought about a vague memory that would not unravel and reveal itself but, instead, appeared and floated down the stream of her awareness like a closed lotus flower and she realized that if she didn't take action she might never know what it was that was floating away from her grasp. She leaned over, hands under her chin, elbows at rest on the hanging bubble chair in front of the man. She was trying to look interesting, seductive, but the chair swung forward like a pendulum being pushed by her weight. She realized her awkwardness and miscalculation of scenery and decided to sit in the chair instead of accidentally having it fly about like a swingball.

"Hello," she said to him and smiled. He just looked back at her, not saying anything.

"Uhm, I was just wondering, what is your name? You look strangely familiar."

The man kept his eyes locked in on her. She began to feel uncomfortable but decided to keep on talking and ignore the feeling. She stretched out her hand.

"My name is Sue. What do you do?"

"I do nothing. I just sit here and exist."

He spoke for the first time. And the last too, she realized as he looked away from her and began to sit there, motionless, people watching from the shadows.

In her field of vision he began to look gray. First a strange gray bleed from his suit onto his face. Then his whole shape until he was just a grayish silhouette sitting cross-legged on red velvet cushions lining the insides of his ball chair.

The lotus was gone but the stream kept flowing.

So last Wednesday I "ran" in the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge which is just another way of saying "an annual 3.5 mile timed run around Central Park". Now you may be wondering why I put "ran" in quotes. I give up. Why?

Hahahaha

I'm hilarious!

*crickets*

I'm on the bus and my eyes are tired so please forgive the bad jokes.

Anyways, "ran" is in quotes because…

When I told people that I was going to run in my workshoes they all told me that it was a bad idea but I ignored them. "My shoes are extremely comfortable," I argued, "There is no way they'll hurt my feet." And I was right too. After the first mile my feet were perfectly fine but my knees…aaaaAAA! MY KNEES!

Yeah, so after a little bit over a mile of running on hard concrete my knees decided to start complaining by basically hurting a lot. I finished the race by walking. Took me 43:21 to finish the race after which I discovered that I couldn't walk up or down the stairs any faster than the pace of a 100 year old man.

It is now almost a week better and it seems like my knees will come back to normal soon. Uhm…yeah. That's about it. Took me like 3 hours to write this. Mooooo

In this world filled with uncertainty all I know is that if my last name was Stone I'd name my first daughter "Rosetta".
