2021-08-07 23:36:44 ET got the left ear cleaned out yesterday so both ears are fully cleaned out now. there has been this weird tinnitus thing happening that seems exacerbated by movement or outside noise, but it's gotten better today and is basically a barely audible ringing now. apparently this can be a temporary side effect of ear cleaning so... let's hope it's actually temporary... but at least i can hear again otherwise. speaking of, i must have had a ton of wax in my ears for way longer than i realized, even before it was compacted, because holy shit everything is massively louder than i'm used to now and i can hear all these minor sounds like the materials of my clothes rubbing together, ambient noises, etc etc, WAY more pronounced than i ever have before. so all in all, after two weeks feeling weird AF cause my ears were all plugged up, i now feel weird AF trying to adjust to hearing way more than i'm used to. but i'm sure i'll get used to it and hopefully the tinnitus keeps improving. ...and at least i can listen to music and other things again and my ears are technically normal. so yay. here's a photo i snapped of a buttplug seen on the subway earlier while taking my kid home from his baseball game. oh san francisco. oh san francisco. 4 comments

2021-08-06 22:15:01 ET got the right ear blasted out last week. got the left ear blasted out today. now the left ear is doing this weird ringing / tinny thing that seems exacerbated by movement or other noises happening. apparently tinnitus is a temporary side effect of ear cleaning. so that's fun. hope it clears up soon. but otherwise i can hear fully in both ears again so um... yay?

2021-08-01 15:56:16 ET since i have too much time to sit around and think about stupid shit with this ear situation, i just randomly discovered that instantgrandmother.com is available and only costs like $12 a year and let me tell you, if i had money and even more time on my hands (which i don't, so i won't) i'd buy the dumb thing and make a parody of instagram called instantgrandmother where anyone who wants can create an account and then post one and only one photo of a grandmother (whether there's or someone else's... whatever) and it must be a photo of a grandmother. and that's all anyone can can use it for. 4 comments
