I am on the bus, stopped at a light, at an intersection marked Norway Ave. There is snow on the street, snow on the road, snow on my hat and shoes. And it is warm out. I must say that it's a beautiful day even though the snow is a hassle in its way but that's just how it is sometimes. You either live life like a rock tumbling down a minefield, being surprised and unprepared for whatever life throws at you or you can man up (I love that term. "Man up". I like it because you can tell a boy or a girl to man up and it still works. It doesn't mean that somebody needs to take on the qualities of a man. No, it means you need to take on qualities of The Man himself. That's right, I'm a-talking about Ernest Hemmingway and of being as awesome as Papa Hemmingway was. Except for the suicide. Please, no need for the Hemmingway Shotgun Trick. I don't care if you got an itchy finger. The muzzles of guns are not meant to be chewed on) and adapt to whatever comes your way. Like the ideal Boy Scout. Or a girl in a bukkake film. Things keep coming and she keeps reacting.

Know what I mean?

Sleep beckons but sleep is for the dead. Or the weary. I forget how the saying goes.

I have 2 packs of Bazooka gum(s?) in my pants pocket. Front right pocket to be a bit more exact. I'm not wearing any pants though.

I'm in my bathrobe, ya pervert. It's like an oversized Scotch kilt. Only it's not a kilt. It's a robe.

Eyelids getting heavier.

Actually, they're not getting heavier. My eyes do feel tired but the feeling of my eyelids aren't one of heaviness. Instead it is one of weakness. Maybe that's why coffee helps us stay awake. Caffeine somehow tricks the mind into releasing an abundance of adrenaline. Thus we don't feel the weakness in our eyelids anymore. Hence we feel more awake.

I finished watching the Cowboy Bebop movie on Netflix not too long ago. Maybe an hour ago? Didn't realize until the very end that it was taking place on Mars. Felt like Quaid at the beginning of Total Recall. Did not start the reactor, did not pass go, did not collect 200 dollars.

A movie from my childhood is what I'm watching right now. Well, not exactly my childhood but I did see it on television in the mid-90s. "If Looks Could Kill" is the title. I remember it as being a good movie. How often is it that we realize our memories are more nostalgic than we'd like to acknowledge?

Kerouac wrote free-flowingly. He wrote novels about being on the go of life. Maybe I should write one of those spy thrillers but free-flowingly. It should end up unreadable...eh..I mean hilarious.

You know, if this was a typewriter something like every 3 words out of 20 would be crossed out.

Maybe I'm sleepy?

Or just a bad typist?

 I don't know.    2011-01-01 06:28:12 ET
I'm down with Kris Kringle.
I rush downstairs every time I hear
Wrapping paper crinkle.
There's Santa
Staring at me
With fear in his eyes
As if there's something really wrong with me.

I'm Jewish.
This isn't my house.
I'm more drunk and stoned than Amy Winehouse.
I don't know
Where I am right now
And the fat man's not leaving here anyhow.

I am on the bus headed to work. It is cold out. In fact, it's so cold out that at least 3 regular buses broke down this morning necessitating my waiting around in the cold for 40 minutes routine. I got that one down to a pat including all the right shivering, snifelling, foot tapping, and the rolling of the shoulders. I am also finding myself to be starving. This is how Siberian tigers must feel like in the cold Tundra winter. Or maybe I am just a bear who awoke prematurely?

My stop is coming up. I must get off soon.

Approaching the end of the first decade of the new Millenium    2010-12-11 03:58:38 ET
I live in the future. I remember only a little over a decade ago dreaming of sitting on a toilet, with a cheap laptop on my lap, somehow magically wirelessly connected to the Internet. No, not just any regular internet connection but a broadband internet connection. And here we are now. Or, I guess to be more self-centric, here I am now. Sitting on the john, netbook keyboard beneath my twitching fingertips, connected wirelessly to my fios connection. I never thought I'd have fiber to the premises this soon in life but here it is! I am truly living in the future of my past's self. Where will I be in the next decade? Where will we all be? I am not going to guess randomly. I do not try to predict the way the water of life will flow. Instead I will offer just a slight suggestion. The suggestion that we should stop for a bit and acknowledge how far we come. Not just technologically but personally. All of the skills we've acknowledged. All of the trivia, some useful and some not, that we have now stored in our heads.

It's an interesting time. It will always be an interesting time.

The Kimster is asleep. I am watching a movie and drinking tea. I am warm. Life is okay right now.
