on the one hand, typically it's not that much work comparatively to my rambling about it here (hence my dedication to just not fucking with it during the day once i'm dressed) - on the other hand, while feminine clothes certainly present a vast plethora of options, styles, fits, etc, that can Look Really Neat™® and please my Designer Problems Brain™ in many pleasant ways, there is also, as such, a plethora of things logsitcally happening either seen or unseen that otherwise go unnoticed to the outside observer that are just 'baked in' to a lot of women's clothes by design and structure insofar as that simply wearing a lot of them, regardless of anything else, becomes quite immedialtely illustrative of why women's restrooms tend to more often than not be backed up like a traffic jam.
of course i guess that's one area i get to 'hack' so-to-speak as, more often than not where restrooms are still arbitrarily gendered for reasons (gotta love how in 'murrica, despite all our restrooms having closing / locking stalls in them, we still for some reason are built largely around the idea that we're all supposed to neurotically pretend that the opposite sex does not shit or pee or fard and we all must hide from this reality at all costs) i just end up defaulting to the men's room so i get to be the one person in there taking an extra long time to deal with the "off / on / adjust accordingly" routine that women just deal with routinely whenever they use the restroom and as such i get to bypass "the line" caused by the fact that most women using the women's room have to do this, plus whatever else they may need to be doing with makeup touchups or whatever else (i occasionally gotta do that too but i'm less neurotic there cause yeesh).
as an all but pointless aside, contrary to how The Legion Of Incredibly Insecure And Probably Mostly Incel Weirdo Dudes (And Probably Politically Funded Bots)™ on The Twitters like to act, it's been my general observation - and not just in san francisco either - that 99.99% of women (and i'm just leaving that .01% there as a theoretical for some women i have yet to actually observe or deal with in reality - my actual experience has been 100%) do not give any sort of a flying fuck or care whatsoever in any way if i use their restroom - which i do on occasion if Some Problem® is happening with the men's room or i am otherwise flat-out invited to use the women's room by women which also happens periodically cause i think most of them register that gendered restrooms make zero fucking sense anyway - and a significantly more noticeable / regular portion of men (like, 25% maybe? it could be more and i just am so used to ignoring a lot of guy's responses by default) exhibit some varying degree of, in factm, giving some amount of a flying fuck or caring or at least 'acting weird / awkward' about it in an obvious and / or entirely overt way when i'm in the men's room.
i mean i personally give zero shits either way and whenever there's just a non-gendered restroom it's just nice that internally i can be like "oh wow look see we can all be functional adults and recognize we all use the restroom! how about that!" but it's 1,000% been my experience that, even if it's a relatively minority percentage, that men - and only men, but hey, still waiting and leaving room for that .01% woman to show up at some point in life - visibly care or give a shit or get awkward or weird or don't know what to do and exhibit some behavior that ranges from 'visibly uncomfortable and awkward' to 'forcing themselves to deal with it' when i'm in their Piss-And-Shard domain even though i would guess some percentage of these are the same dudes who will go online later and make the "My Duty As An American Male Is To Protect Women From Strawmen In My Head All Day" argument that people like me should absolutely not ever never ever use the women's room because DANGER-that-zero-data-anywhere-ever-shows-exists somehow is a thing i guess. but then when i'm regularly using the men's room, lemme tell ya, a lot of men seem to really internally struggle with this, while women absolutely do not care or ever view me as a threat at all, and will occasionally flat out tell me or invite me to use the women's room, seemingly because they think i'm going to feel safer or more normal in there (which, the 'more normal' part TBF does end up being the case) as they seem to know some men are gonna get weird about me whereas women just won't.
i wish i could say i'm surprised by any of this but i'm not. this country is fucking weird and gendered restrooms are fucking dumb. but i'm sure glad some dudes have been programmed to think that that's the biggest hill to die on in life, and not that all of the folks running the western world's power centers are literal child rapist / child rapist enablers, and possible cannibals, and questioning what it is about our society that has produced and allowed that for decades if not centuries. i'm just gonna go out on a limb and say i'm pretty sure it's not gender-neutral restrooms that are the problem. but anyway. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
...of course all of this is a total aside from locker rooms, obviously, where i genuinely don't think the unhinged, bizarre, clearly mentally unwell, unstable, and problematic bioligical men - most of whom i won't even dignify with calling them trans, even if some of them technically are - doing all they can to shove their way into women's sports and competitive areas etc - should be anywhere near actual women in those spaces and arenas. but that's not at all the same fucking thing as going to the damn pisser with the general public, and puritanism is really fucking stupid.
anyway, jeez, this was an unexpectedly long comment reply. lol. ALSO i pooped a 2nd time this morning. 💪💩 |
