turboskanker 2021-10-04 09:12:17 ET it’s too much of a house of cards business-model wise not to fail, all the terrible ethnics and human rights violations aside - their actual numbers including userbase numbers and valuation of product - have all been completely fabricated for a long ass time as well. it’ll fail - it’s just a matter of when. but yes it doesn’t help that criminals basically run everything anymore and the fed perpetually keeps VC money on life support. but facebook - and this is coming from someone who got my career start in that industry - is still a house of cards. it’s both psychologically unsustainable for its dwindling userbase, and financially unsustainable as a model. tick tock.

You Dont Know Jake 2021-10-04 12:25:18 ET I read a year or two ago that a lot of the big social media firms actually hit peak capacity years ago, in some cases a full decade. Much of the increasing exploitation of users is because their expansion models have switched from "how can we attract more users" to "how can we exploit existing users more".

turboskanker 2021-10-04 22:52:28 ET all the numbers they report to the public and investors, be it revenue or userbase numbers, are 100% made the fuck up. the entire business models is fraud. facebook shut itself down today and locked all its employees out of site access as well as the higher-ups desperately tried to scrub their own servers of further evidence of problems and do damage control. seems too late since investors are jumping ship in droves now. also since the fucking business model itself is still 100% snake oil and all of these companies are time bombs. facebook is just arguably the worst, and definitely the dumbest-run, out of all of them.
