I'm still lazy. I'm still a n00b. I still make bad jokes. I still sleep on the floor. I still use a thinkpad. I still have too much optical media but, hey, that's more cyberpunk.
Uh, what else?
Not much has changed. I think I moved since I last updated.
Oh, wait, wtf, I last updated in 2020 and 2019? Damn, I'm a lot more active on this site than I remember.
I miss the simplicity of ThinkPads. Great laptop and great keyboard. It's so tough to get a decently priced laptop now. It's been wonderful seeing people update so much. I'll def have to shoot an update after I'm done with work today.
i was gonna say, i fuckin hate PCs with a seething passion, but thinkpads are still the only PC laptop i actually have respect for. they're absolute tanks - at least they used to be - and very well-designed and well-built. and i 2nd what drake said about the keyboard too - thinkpads are like the only laptop / notebook keyboard i actually don't hate using besides macbooks. i'd totally get one and put linux on it sometime just for the fuck of it - they're iconic.
I think Slackware is all I ever ran on my Thinkpads, back when everything including X had to be configured manually in order to work at all. Fun times. The Thinkpad 600 that I had for a few years just after high school was probably my favorite. Eventually I upgraded to something a little more modern and gave the 600 to my mom with a fresh install of Windows 2000 on it and she promptly blew it up by plugging in the wrong AC adapter. RIP.
