It's fucking Election Day!

I hope it drags on for at least a few months. Seeing how I don't care about any of the main 2 candidates I want to see this election make some giant mess that's gonna force change and interesting television coverage. The news monkey in me is excited.

Lol... YAY then we'll get to hear about another media hyped election travesty for the next four years.

2004-11-01 21:14:39 ET

you dont care.

fuck. thats really amrt and logical.

2004-11-01 22:26:59 ET

Yeah, I'm not going to be forced to choose between, in my humble opinion, a moron and a suck up. I'm voting Libertarian for President and Greens for Congress.

2004-11-02 15:06:32 ET

In my opinion I'd say that Leo probably cares more than most since he's actually going to vote for what he believes in instead of voting say for instance for Kerry because he just doesn't want Bush in office even though he doesn't like Kerry.

2004-11-02 17:24:39 ET

Actually I slept through it.

2004-11-02 17:25:40 ET

Hahahaha... never mind then.
I'm at work myself.

2004-11-02 17:33:28 ET

Well, it's kinda true what you said. I didn't really have a candidate to vote for.

2004-11-02 17:41:40 ET

I was just thinking about that. Maybe there could be something on the ballot so that you could vote against candidates getting into office without having to vote for one.

2004-11-02 17:45:19 ET

Yeah, such a system exists. I don't remember if it's Wired magazine or Popular Science that has a look at other election systems its current issue. They cover about 6 systems if I remember correctly so maybe we should switch.

2004-11-02 17:48:30 ET

They're apearantly trying to get our state election system here in California changed. I read a little bit on it and don't think I like what they had come up with. Sounds liek it would cut out alot of third party candidates from the ballot.

2004-11-02 17:50:43 ET

What are they planning on doing?

That site is horrible. It doesn't explain what the proposition is.

2004-11-02 18:59:20 ET

I know. I looked up the prop, the actual text, but I haven't the attention to pay to it while I'm here at work.

2004-11-02 21:32:43 ET

In a nutshell, Prop 62 requires that the top two vote getters in a primary, regardless of party affiliation, face a runoff in November.

[this is the prop you guys are talking about, right?]

Yes that's the one. I wish I had access to the net when I'm not at work so that I can read up on these things better. It sounds like there are certain problems with it but I can't really tell with out readnig it.
