This makes me sad. Great shot, though!

i felt it was a necessary statement to make and definitely a had-to-capture shot when i looked out the window as the trolley was stopped at the intersection. i felt inclined to not only post it here, but also on all my other social media outside of ello that i don't typically post my photography to. while sad, i hope it's a reminder to folks in this country to keep fighting for justice for everyone including the homeless, and not give up the fight we progressives have in the face of any perceived adversity. i also hope it helps us all reflect on what christmas actually means to us. a corporate advertisement can say "we 🖤home" but what does this picture really say about us as a country and our priorities? and this is in san francisco, a city that actually does more to help the homeless than almost anywhere else in america. we mustn't give up. we must do better.

It is a very strong image. I think that with photos, the best ones are the ones that convey an emotion. Which is exactly what this photo does. If someone doesn't get some kind of feeling looking at this photo, they have no heart. haha, but that's the truth. It is very sad to see this. I completely agree with what you've said about this photo.
