It's like nobody plays any Black Lung out these parts or whn I was in Georgia. I enjoyed it none the less. Yes, I listened to abotu 1.5 hours of your show. It's like a lesson in Industrial from you except you never speak.. uh hum...

2002-12-26 16:01:43 ET

i'm not a good radio personality Vas. i'm too shy and not a good speaker. besides i'm showcasing artists i like, not myself, that's what my journal is for.

2002-12-26 16:10:39 ET

yeah I know I just like to hear people's voices. It makes it easier for me to connect their words with their voice. That is jsut me though. I am a radio personality though :P I should be back on next week though. I got some wierd stuff... heh.

2002-12-26 16:16:31 ET

who keeps on renaming the station "asdfas"? they change the musical preferences to alternative, asian, and classical.

2002-12-26 16:22:11 ET

haha. I don't know. I haven't been on since October. You can change it back. It's supposed to be Sykoradio...who is running the thing anyways?

2002-12-26 16:27:43 ET

it said the right thing when i went on earlier today. i assumed it was you even though i didn't know if you were back this week or not. i've had to change it back before. whoever it is they turn the basic broadcast off too. i will go fix it now.

2002-12-26 16:28:32 ET

somebody should mention that to the management.. or whoever is in charge.

2002-12-26 16:32:34 ET

who is in charge anyway?

2002-12-26 16:33:19 ET

I think it is Rustload but she never responds to ANY of my messages. I don't even have the current password. I tried to log in a few months ago and it wouldn't let me... come to find out the password was changed.

2002-12-26 16:37:24 ET

no, Rust has been too busy since the school year started for her. i think Syko took it back over, but i don't see her having ample time to manage it either.

2002-12-26 16:39:22 ET

Hum. That is a problem. it's not that big of a responsibility but for Syko it could be a bi much with SK.net and all her other important stuff. I will post something in the group about it.

2002-12-26 16:42:19 ET

sounds good.

Hi vasa, thanks for bringing this to my attention.
I feel terrible that the radio isn't a higher priority right now, and I dropped the anvil on that one.

One thing that really bothers me about the radio is that it isn't really streamlined for numerous dj's. It appears the way Dead666 is set up is for only one dj. I dislike that there is a shared password (hence why I am always apprehensive of taking on new DJs) and the uploaded mp3s get sketchy. :P
I think the station naming is an issue because what happens is, people aren't sure what the blank spots in some of the login info is, and they just type in whatever.

Regarding changing what our station preferences is, that is bullshit, and I'm angry that people are doing that.

So we have numerous issues like those to deal with, mostly because the software isn't set up to be accessed by numerous people.

So hmm ways to handle that are probably stricter rules and higher communication? Hence why I have the yahoo group, but I have a suspicion that everyone who dj's isn't on the group, and a few dj's on the group don't get the emails or read them.

Any ideas on w0t ta do?
Any suggestions/etc, are highly valuable. Washu, I know you have proposed a central information site that I had begun to work on. tash was working on a radio site for her school project, but I'm not sure what that status is. I'll contact her, and dig out the radio site I had started, and see if I can get that a lil tighter.

If either of you (or both of you) are interested in handling all the updates/communications/etc, that would be very cool.

I think the radio can be a strong focal point of the site, but it just hasn't come into fruition due to numerous reasons (software/technical issues, lack of awareness, disorganization in regard to the DJ roster, etc etc).

2002-12-27 20:29:24 ET

Well, I did update alot of the filenames on the uploaded MP3s a few months ago and some other stuff. i am interested in helping but I don't know what I could do. If you have some ideas on exaclty what responsibilites pertaining to the radio I would have then let me know. I am more than willing.

2002-12-27 20:34:22 ET

Hmm responsibilities off the radio ..
Here are a few I guess (i'm a lil sleepy, so I'll have to re read this in the morning)

  • Updating DJ calender with correct DJ info
  • Adding new DJs to the roster, and assisting them with set up.
  • Maintain communication with DJ list regarding calendar updates, software issues, etc.
  • Removing DJs and if bad blood went down, considering changing the password. :P (sounds stupid, but it's a big annoyance if a vindictive person changes the password. Technically we can get it reset, since we control the account, but it's a beotch).
  • Trying to create awareness of the radio, and pointing people towards a public schedule of who is on, what music they play, etc.

We do have some ideas about how to create more awareness. I know there has been talk about banners, which is a possibility. Perhaps the top banner can be rotating 'ads' for shows, once the winter theme is changed over (which will be shortly).

We also have plans for an animated gif to appear when a DJ is 'logged in' to a DJ panel on the future central DJ info site, hoping to garner more attraction to the Radio link.

2002-12-27 20:39:42 ET

Those seem easy enough and would not consume extremely large amounts of my time so if you want I will do it. Just let me know. I think it would be good to have two people working it regardless so they can split the work and catch up if someone is gone.. say like umm if I am at war or something :P So I stand ready to do what is needed.

2002-12-27 21:15:27 ET

i wouldn't be too useful on the technical end, but i might have the time to help manage and regulate.

2002-12-28 06:16:11 ET

Washu - You know more about the software than I do ^_^
I can handle any website stuff that isn't related to the yahoo group, etc, but I dislike fielding answers about how to get live666 to work, since I never use it.

I'll go give you guys mod priviledges in the Yahoo Group, and contact you in a bit with any other details that might assist.
Thank yoU!
