It's 2026

It's 2026. I'm actually figuring out how to be more active in my interests. Don't get me wrong, I still spend a lot of time just sitting there doing nothing but the amount of time I'm spending actually doing stuff is improving.

The annoying thing that inspires me is that I seem to be so much more active in my dreams. I actually go outside and see cool places and experience cool things and then I wake up. The dreams don't come out of nowhere though. I slowly eventually figure out what they're inspired by: cool experiences that have happened years apart. I think it's my brain going "hey, that was cool. Let's find more of that."

Why is that annoying? Because the dream geography tends to be consistent so I walk around the real world with a map of a non-existent world in my head with all of these cool places and now I have to spend the effort to find places with similar vibes irl. The upside is I'm sure that the places exist but they're never as easy to get to as in my dreams. Still, life can last for a long time or it can end in the very next second so I should spend the time looking.

Anyways, I'm rambling. Adios!

I've had a few dreams with consistent geography that have been exaggerated/fantastical variations of actual places I've been, and it's always really bothered me that I can't go back to them on demand.

Yeah, exactly. However it has inspired me to go out to events more and to explore more to find places that have the same vibes as the places in the dreams. Annoyingly, dreams have fast travel built into them and also amazing architecture due to a total lack of safety precautions so looks-wise similar places are hard to find. Recently I've stumbled upon a Cybernetics library hiding out in a community space and that fit the vibe to a t but I've not been back in months.
