Got a new netbook. A Samsung N150 Plus (N150-11). It came with Windows 7 Starter Edition.

Windows 7 Starter, where do I start?

I can't change my wallpaper, apparently I won't be able to play DVDs, can't change some power settings. This OS is even more limited that Ubuntu when running completely unconfigured on various assorted laptops.

I see now that Microsoft has again dropped the ball on things. Maybe this is why Ballmer's on the ousts? Since Gates left the whole gigantic beast has been playing at being a blinded Cyclops. I hope things will change soon.

I should install Ubuntu onto this hardware. I love the keyboard but the screen should be able to tilt further back. Oh, well. This is to type type type and not to look at pretty things (or porn) all day.

So there.

Yea, I'd upgrade to Premium. I couldn't handle that.

I now see why you have to pay more to downgrade to WinXP. Win7 is sometimes ridiculous.

Like being unable to turn on hibernation....but being able to go into the command prompt and type: shutdown /h

How long before a Security Update removes access to the command prompt in Windows 7 Starter?
