I Ball SoF: okay, so a BRI line uses 3 channels. 2 B channels for voice and data and a D channel for call info signalling.

Mister Murd0c: PRI
Mister Murd0c: yes

I Ball SoF: But what the hell does "B channel" and "D" channel mean
I Ball SoF: no, BRI. The ISDN version of the PRI line.

Mister Murd0c: oh
Mister Murd0c: i dont know, i'll find out for you

I Ball SoF: Strom Carlson mentioned it on BinRev so I looked it up in this old "Cyberspeak" dictionary I pawed off B&N a while back

Mister Murd0c: eventually, I have to wait for my telco homie to get online

I Ball SoF: Lucky's on.
I Ball SoF: You can bother him.
I Ball SoF: which telco homie?

Mister Murd0c: you can too
Mister Murd0c: you don't know him
Mister Murd0c: its an older phone phreak I know from MN

I Ball SoF: I kinda know him. He kinda knows me. He IMed me one day.

Mister Murd0c: uh huh
Mister Murd0c: just ask him then

I Ball SoF: Did I mention that I'm psychic and have visions.
I Ball SoF: Like just now I had a vision of a huge sign saying
I Ball SoF: GOOGLE
I Ball SoF: and so I shall

Mister Murd0c: heheh
Mister Murd0c: <3

I Ball SoF: what's the first C in CLEC stand for again?

Mister Murd0c: competitive

I Ball SoF: ah
I Ball SoF: also the "B" in B-channel stands for "Bearer" cause it bears the main data
I Ball SoF: both B channels on a BRI are 64Kbps each while the D-channel is 16Kbps.
I Ball SoF: oh, and the D stands for Delta.
I Ball SoF: ah.
I Ball SoF: BRI = 2 B channels (64Kbps each) + 1 D channel (16Kbps)
I Ball SoF: PRI (U.S.) = 23 B channels (64Kbps) and 1 D channel (also 64Kbps)
I Ball SoF: PRI (Europe) = 30 B channels and 1 D channel
I Ball SoF: okay, now the word "channel" looks weird
I Ball SoF: It now sounds french in my head.

It probably is French.
