So when California was having rolling blackouts all throughout cali., it was something to be tolerated due to an "energy crisis".
But when it happens to New York, "we need to revamp our old electrical systems and rebuild them in a modern manner."

The Ugly:
This guy came in today talking on his celphone aggressively as if his conversation was the most important conversation in the world and acted like he was the most important person in the world. So he comes up and forcefully tells me he wants a small mocha malt frappacino. Already treating me like scum before I even get a chance to ask him what he'd like to have. Anyhow, so I make it for him, and the rest of the story goes something like this:
As I'm about to garnish the drink with chocolate sauce without a lid and with a spoon as specified, i move just enough out of the way so that he can see the drink from where he standing. "I said *light* whipped cream" he snarles.
"I'm sorry, I'll take some of it off." I said, and begin to scrape some off into the sink.
"Is that a Grande???" He asks as if I've just run into his brand new sports car and left a dent, celphone still to his ear.
"Is that a celphone??" My supervisor, Ryan, asks in his sarcastic manner as he wipes down the counter in front of the dude.
"No, sir, " I said, "You ordered a tall."
"No, I didn't. I get this every day, I know I ordered a Grande."
"You ordered a tall, but I will make you a new one" I retorted and tossed the entire drink, cup and all into the sink. I made sure he knew I was annoyed when I handed him his drink by saying non chalontley (sp?), "Hey, can you do me a favor?? Can you learn some manners before you come back?" I then walked away so he could not respond. He continued his conversation on his celphone as if he hadn't even heard me.
I then went into the back room to take my last break.
Ten minutes later, Ryan comes back and tells me that the guy is still ranting and raving about what happened, saying all kinds of mean and untrue things about me, and has requested my manager's business card.
Ryan hands him the card and the guy says, "And who is the person with the shady attitude?"
"Shannon," Ryan says, "And you can add your name to that list as well."
"I'll do that." The guy snorts as he walks off.
"Yes, you do that." Ryan calls after him.
That guy was such a prick...I hope I ruined his drink.
The Cute:
On the way home, I stopped to pet a friendly neighborhood kitty. It then decided it wanted to try to walk me home. I wouldn't let it, though. I didn't want the poor thing to get run over, as I was headed towards a pretty busy street.
The Exciting:
In a week and a half...I CAN HAVE PURPLE HAIR!!!!!!!! :D And the labret ring I've been wanting for a while!! :]

A chapter of my life is closing. I'm done with farting around and being a "teenager". I'm really an adult now. I'm getting my shit together, and in doing so am petrified.
I turned in my resignation to Starbucks today. That was the hardest part about this whole thing. I've become so close to all of those people...they are a support system. We all care about eachother and are friends even though we don't necesarily hang out outside of work. I hope to change that with a couple of people, but we shall see.
I will cry when Joni talks to me about it, I know I will. I can't help it, I love all of those people so much...even the ones I always bitch about (cept the newbies, I haven't bonded with them, yet).
Ugh...it's tough.

Peter Thomas called just a little while ago and offered me the position!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!! I start on the 25th! :]
WEWT!!! They do extensions, too!! So I'm excited about that...I'll get to do those as well :]
